The Weeknd has announced the release of a new project called THE IDOL Vol. 1.
From the title, it looks like it will be an album or soundtrack to accompany his new HBO series of the same name which is coming soon. THE “IDOL VOL. 1 coming soon (double fantasy & jealous guy just a taste),” he wrote on social media with a video of him and Mike Dean overseeing an orchestra playing in the studio.
Earlier this week, the singer previewed two new songs during an Instagram live session: a collaboration with Future and a cover of John Lennon’s ‘Jealous Guy’. Looks like those two songs will appear on the new project.

Abel recently criticized Rolling Stone magazine after it reported that the direction of his HBO show as “gone wildly, disgustingly off the rails.”
