Cochise Drops New Single “KANEKI”


Palm Beach rapper Cochise has shared a new single, titled “KANEKI.” The track is the first to be released from the artist’s upcoming album, NO ONE’S NICE TO ME. NO ONE’S NICE TO ME is slated for release later this month on May 26, 2023. Cochise updated his fans on the status of his new album on Twitter recently, sharing, “PROJECT ALL DONE.” He told fans they can expect to hear the album in “SUMMER TIME.” On May 8, the artist got back on Twitter to let followers know they can expect to hear the first track of the album on May 12.

Earlier this year, the artist released his singles “PERM” and “LONG WAY.” The single also comes after the release of the artist’s 2022 album, The Inspection. The Inspection featured notable artists Chief Keef and Young Nudy. He said about the album that he “wanted to take [his] music to a serious level.” He added, “rather than making music anyone can listen to or filler music, I wanted to make real music.” He said his goal was to make “something people would recognize and consume.”

Cochise Prepares Fans For Upcoming Album

“KANEKI” is upbeat, with heavy bass and bright percussion. The new single also features an accompanying music video. The video showcases the rapper performing, complete with sci-fi elements.

The young rapper’s upcoming album NO ONE’S NICE TO ME, will be his fourth. After releasing his debut, Pulp, in 2018, he additionally released Benbow Crescent in 2021. Cochise has released several singles since then, including “Creme Brulee,” and “COOK UP.” He’s also collaborated with an array of artists, with features alongside Kevin Taylor, K Sauve, and Tung Cloudy. The artist also worked with NYC rapper $NOT to create the song “Tell Em.” The pair released an accompanying music video created by Lyrical Lemonade’s Cole Bennett. Cochise told XXL Magazine that he was “definitely thankful and blessed for the area that [they] covered with that song.” The also rapper shared at the time that, “As long as God is going to bless [him] with it, [he’s] going to keep going.”
