Seamlessly transitioning through creative endeavors, Sibby Liv brings us All Spice World Dance.

The dance floor was alive with the electrifying beats of Major Lazer’s Walshy Fire, Jersey Club King DJ Sliink, Philly’s very own DJ Diamond Kuts, the incredible Caribbean Queen Sibby Liv & more.

We were transported into a vibrant, musical vacation that spans the globe, featuring irresistible rhythms of Afrobeats, Amapiano, Soca, Dancehall, Reggaeton, Dembow and more.

We had a chance to sit down with Sibby amid the festivities to talk about her journey thus far and what it means to be a creative cornerstone. Amani and Sibby shared some some laughs and a warm hug and the chat began.

A little birdie told me that you had a clothing line?

Playfully candid she starts, “These little birdies talk too much! But, yes I used to design athletic wear and it was really popular. I stopped because it became too much for me. You know that saying, ‘Quit while you’re ahead,’ I was ahead in the situation but I know I didn’t have enough people in place to help me, so I just stopped.

The two shared another laugh and Amani complimented Liv’s style. Sibby then confessed that she’s actually contemplating relaunching. Only this time it would be for everyday household items that people need.

Amani continued, by highlighting Sibby Liv’s contributions to the creative community.

How did you transition from fashion to DJing?

Music was always first, I was an artist and writer first…actually a poet first, and then it kind of trickled down into all of that.” Amani interjected, “What don’t you do!?” Sibby continued, “I’m interested in things that I can grow from. Designing and music go hand in hand. I was editing music at the time, for my visual design campaigns. It was always a thing for me. If this was a school music would be my Major, fashion would be my Minor.

Is there any advice you would give to anybody who has their hands in a lot of things and don’t know what to focus on?

You can prioritize that main thing you want to focus on the most. As long as the other little things that you’re doing align with the main thing, it’s fine. It just has to be a balance….like fashion goes with music and djing goes with production…it’s how you balance it out.

What’s your favorite music to DJ?

CARIBBEAN!” She exclaimed! “…and high energy music, club music…I LOVE high energy pick me up music!” Not an opening act, Sibby Liv is sure to keep the crowd lit! Make sure you keep in touch by following her on Instagram and streaming her certified bops on Apple Music.
