Kendrick Lamar Films ‘Not Like Us’ Music Video in Compton After Epic “Pop Out – Ken & Friends” Concert

After Kendrick Lamar’s acclaimed Juneteenth concert in Inglewood, Kendrick Lamar drew a crowd in Compton on Saturday while filming a music video for his song “Not Like Us.”

Fans, and the whole hood, gathered at Tam’s Burgers on Rosecrans Avenue, chanting along with the chorus as Lamar filmed scenes for the video. Talk about keeping a summer anthem alive and kicking, at least in Los Angeles.

The release date for the video is still unknown. So it’s anyone’s guess. But “Not Like Us,” a diss track aimed at fellow rapper Drake, was released on May 4, amid a long-standing feud between the two that dates back to 2013.

Get this, the video shoot follows Lamar’s “Pop Out – Ken & Friends” concert, which featured prominent Los Angeles figures and West Coast artists, attracting about 17,000 attendees at the Kia Forum. The concert, which was livestreamed, highlighted Lamar’s significant influence and featured his performance of “Not Like Us” five times consecutively to close the event.

Due to the ongoing tension between Lamar and Drake, heightened security was necessary at the video shoot.

“Not Like Us” debuted at No. 1 and is currently at No. 6 on the Hot 100 after six weeks on the chart. Now on to the visuals. Let’s see if Dot tops the “Family Matters” video, which definitely was an overlooked visual but far from a pushover piece of content, onscreen or otherwise.
