Rapper Travis Scott, 33, was arrested in Paris on Friday morning, August 9, after an altercation with his bodyguard at the five-star George V hotel, French police reported.
The incident occurred when Scott allegedly attacked a security guard attempting to intervene in a dispute between the rapper and his bodyguard. The arrest followed shortly after Scott was seen attending the men’s USA basketball game at the Olympics earlier that day.
“I can confirm that on August 9, 2024, police officers were called to the George V hotel and arrested the rapper nicknamed Travis Scott for assaulting a security guard,” the Paris prosecutor’s office said to NBC News. “The security guard had intervened to separate the rapper from his bodyguard. The Paris public prosecutor’s office has referred the case to the 1st district of the judicial police.”
French authorities are investigating the matter, and further details are expected to emerge as the situation develops.
