With all the buzz around him, we sat down for an exclusive interview to dive into his latest release, those viral moments, and what lies ahead for him in the future.

Check out the full Q&A below!

Your new single “Bad Romance” is finally out. How does it feel transitioning into a different sub-genre?

DISTRXCT: “It feels great, I’m blessed to be able to experience everything firsthand. Techno has been on my list for quite some time, and I was waiting for that right moment, you feel me…It’s limitless.

What was the inspiration behind “Bad Romance”?

DISTRXCT: “I wanted a track with a darker vibe, and honestly, who better than Lady Gaga to tap into that kind of energy? The remix turned out exactly how I envisioned it, and I’m really pumped about it. I can’t wait for the clubs to feel the impact—it’s going to be wild!

Dope! How does going viral feel and have you imagined such an outcome?

DISTRXCT: It really feels like something straight out of a movie. One day you’re making music for your fellas, and the next, Tiësto is spinning your track in a set. I always believed it would happen eventually, but this is just the beginning. Now I’m more focused than ever, working both harder and smarter. No rest periods allowed—unless it’s a gym session, haha!

Congratulations on hitting over 100 million plays across platforms and landing on radio stations worldwide! What do you think contributed to your success?

DISTRXCT: Thanks, I really appreciate it! There have been so many factors that played into this journey, but I think the biggest one is persistence. No matter how tough things get, it’s all about pushing through. I’ve seen a lot of people give up too soon, without truly exploring their craft. I believe people connect with authenticity, and that’s what I’ve always aimed to be—just me, no gimmicks.

You used to be a rapper. How do you see the current state of the EDM scene compared to Hip-Hop?

DISTRXCT: It’s a really positive environment here. The audience is welcoming, there’s less drama, and we feel more like a family. It’s all about the music and the good sh*t. Hip-Hop will always have a special place in my heart, though. Both genres are awesome for turnt!

Can you share any hints about what’s in store for DISTRXCT in 2025?

DISTRXCT: Most definitely! I plan to keep releasing great music and share more of my world with the audience. I’m also looking to collaborate more and potentially go on tour when the time feels right. I’d love to connect with my supporters in the USA, Germany, Brazil, Spain, France, and other amazing places. It’s all gas, no brakes—so stay tuned!
