J. Cole ‘Port Antonio’ Song Debut New Premiere Listen

J. Cole ‘Port Antonio’ Song

the Fall off coming soon. . .

As Kendrick Lamar cements his place as the king of hip-hop and Drake shifts focus to his next big business move, J. Cole has stepped back into the spotlight. Last spring, Cole faced backlash for publicly apologizing to Kendrick at the peak of his feud with Drake. Many saw it as him bowing out of the competition, fueling ridicule from fans as the rivalry took a messy turn.

After dropping his Might Delete Later mixtape, Cole fired back at Kendrick with the track “7 Minute Drill.” Unfortunately, Cole thought the battle would stay on wax and showcase who was the superior rapper. But neither Kendrick nor Drake seemed interested in keeping it strictly lyrical, as tensions quickly escalated on a personal level.

Following Drake’s abrupt departure from Dreamville Fest, rumors suggest he hasn’t spoken to Cole since the April incident. In the track below, J. Cole reflects on the aftermath of the conflict and explains why he couldn’t let the feud become personal with someone he still deeply respects.
