To say that things “went left” on CNN last night is such an egregious understatement that it’s damn near a lie. In fact, one could argue that things went alt-right.
Conservative commentator Ryan Girdusky was invited to the CNN Newsnight panel with host Abby Phillip alongside outspoken and progressive news anchor Mehdi Hasan and several others. The group was discussing the racist “joke” about Puerto Rico told by Kill Tony comedian Tony Hinchcliffe at Donald Trump’s MSG rally last weekend. It should come as no surprise that Girdusky defended the “joke” like it was his firstborn child.
Perhaps Girdusky was jealous of Hinchcliffe and felt that he had to out-racist the KKKontroversial KKKomedian because during his exchange with Hasan, Girdusky said the following;
“I hope your beeper doesn’t go off.”
For those who are somehow unaware, electronic devices like beepers and cell phones have recently been used to create what are essentially small bombs. These bombs exploded simultaneously in Lebanon last month killing multiple people and injuring thousands more. C
NN reports that these devices were set off by the Israeli military in conjunction with their intelligence service called Mossad. The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has also been known to use such measures to carry out attacks.
The panel had a righteously visceral reaction to Girdusky’s flippantly racist quip and the entire discussion was derailed. Girdusky feigned an apology in an attempt to save face but following a commercial break, Girdusky was removed from the panel. Phillips issued a much-needed apology to both Hasan and the viewing audience.
CNN released a statement saying that Girdusky was banned from the network as a result of his comments.
Unfortunately, much like his führer zaddy Donald Trump, Girdusky took to Twitter to gaslight and play the victim instead of standing on the business that pays him.
The next 6 days are going to be some of the most fraught times in modern American history. Buckle up, ladies and gents. The s**t show is about to begin. Prepare yourself for what’s ahead.
