Bronx-born hip-hop star A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and Sei Less restaurant co-owner Dara Mirjahangiry teamed up to bring holiday cheer to 50 teenagers from Children of Promise, NYC with a special Thanksgiving dinner held at the restaurant.
The event provided a memorable evening for the teens, who come from families affected by the criminal justice system. The dinner aimed to support the mission of Children of Promise, NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth and dismantling the stigma of incarceration within Black and Brown communities.
The highlight of the evening was A Boogie’s surprise appearance. He not only joined the teens for dinner but also personally engaged in conversations, posed for photos, and uplifted spirits alongside Mirjahangiry. Together, they created a warm and festive atmosphere that celebrated resilience, hope, and community.
“Giving back to my community, especially bringing joy to these kids who’ve been impacted by the criminal justice system meant so much. Thanks to Sei Less and Dara, we partnered up with Children of Promise to connect with these amazing kids,” said A Boogie. “Hearing their stories reminds me why it’s so important to be thankful for what you have. I’m grateful to have played a part in bringing smiles to their faces this holiday season.”
Mirjahangiry and his team served up some of Sei Less’ signature dishes. The teenagers feasted on select dishes including the chicken satay, vegetable lo mein and Beijing chicken. The team ensured that each teen received an elevated dining experience just like Sei Less’ celeb clientele.
“We’re proud to continue fostering connections between music, fine dining, and community,” said Mirjahangiry. “This Thanksgiving dinner is just one way Sei Less is giving back to those who need it most, and we’re grateful to A Boogie for helping make it a night to remember.”
