Dame Dash Talks Reasonable Doubt Sale, Rocafella Inc Situation

It’s the roc you bastards!!!!

With much of the industry speaking negatively about Dame Dash, it’s been striking to see how composed he’s remained throughout this ordeal. So much so that even 50 Cent has sided with Jay-Z’s close associate, Steve Stoute. At the core of this dispute is Jay-Z’s ongoing attempt to regain the rights to Reasonable Doubt, which Dame Dash has held onto for business purposes.

Last month, Dash’s 33.3% stake in Roc-A-Fella Inc. and the rights to Reasonable Doubt were reportedly set to be auctioned in Manhattan, with an opening bid of $1.2 million. Surprisingly, both Jay-Z and Dame Dash remained silent on the matter for an entire month, while reports from TMZ and others suggested that full rights to Reasonable Doubt would revert to Jay-Z in 2031.

However, Dame recently revealed that the State of New York has intervened, filing court documents without his involvement last Friday. According to these filings, the Copyright Act prevents any termination rights over Reasonable Doubt, as the RAF (Restitution, Accounting, and Forfeiture) is entitled to renew terms for both the album and Roc-A-Fella Inc. Dame further disclosed that the rights to Reasonable Doubt have been extended for 67 years, with the new owner retaining copyright until 2098.

Before concluding, Dame hinted that a deal with key players is on the horizon, with the new auction potentially fetching ten times more than the initial starting price.
