Sorry to that statue man
We hope we don’t sound ridiculous but we don’t know who that statue man is–in fact, no one would’ve known it was Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade if he weren’t at the unveiling ceremony for the mind-blowingly inaccurate monument that was immediately roasted to oblivion by the whole entire internet.
The statue, which commemorated the Hall of Famer’s iconic ‘This is my house’ moment from the Heat’s classic 2009 double-overtime victory against the Chicago Bulls continues to fuel hilarious memes across the sports world and beyond.

Interestingly, the 13-time All-Star defended the questionable statue despite seemingly his displeasure by joking ‘who is this guy’ at the ceremony.

“If I wanted it to look like me, I’d just stand outside the arena and y’all can take photos,” said Wade in response to the viral memes, per ESPN. “It don’t need to look like me. It’s the artistic version of a moment that happened that we’re trying to cement.”
“I care, but I don’t,” he continued. “The social media world is about opinions. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone, use y’all opinions. Please talk more about us. Talk more about a statue, come on down to see it, take some photos, send some memes. We don’t care.”
WELP, if he likes it, we love it, and will continue laughing at the memes that get funnier by the hour.
