Section. 80 and good kid, m.A.A.d city were an incredible one-two punch, but To Pimp A Butterfly was the haymaker that came after both for many. Released more than eight years ago now, the album is almost unanimously considered a classic and sells a hell of a lot of copies on vinyl every year, almost like it’s an art piece. Interscope have taken things to the next level now though.
A KTT2 user noticed that the online Interscope Records store is selling a vinyl version of Kendrick’s TPAB for a whopping $2,500. The vinyl comes in an “11.5” x 11.5″ gallery quality giclée printed cover by Lauren Halsey, fixed to a tan custom dyed linen wrapped vinyl jacket.” It’s limited to 100 copies, signed by Halsey, set in custom packaging that’s designed by GUCCI and comes with a catalogue of Artists Inspired by Music: Interscope Reimagined, which features Dr. Dre on the cover.
