RELATED: Mic Geronimo Airs Out Irv Gotti for Disrespectful Comments on Drink Champs
Irv Gotti vs. Ashanti Business Tactics exposed, as the talk of the urban media this week is broken down in full. One of the most cringe-worthy interviews we’ve seen this year was Irv Gotti airing his issues with Ashanti on Drink Champs.
While being disgruntled that she’s never going to work with him again, an affiliate of Ashanti went on social media to expose everything. Using an Ashanti fan page twitter account, the entire Ashanti run at Murder Inc. was broken down, including her eventual exit.
Below, you can take a look at the breakdown, as well the receipts from her career with Irv.
Irv had Ashanti write and background vocal Aint It Funny (Remix) for JLO w/ no credit. Also, had her background vocal I’m Real Remix as well. And wanted to give Rescue, What’s Luv, and Always On Time to JLO as well. pic.twitter.com/Kxb5XO6a63

Please note that this is no disrespect to JLO at all. TBH, if I was Jlo, I wouldnt even fuck with Irv either. pic.twitter.com/4qUqYozjXY

2002 – Instead of getting a 4th Music Video (Which could have either been Movies, Leaving, or Rescue). Irv gives us a Baby (Remix) Video to push his Irv Gotti Presents The Remix Album and showcase his artist who never got a release. The song had no new verse/lyrics from Shan pic.twitter.com/HsJKSQyMLv

End of 02, Fabolous shared with BET that Ashanti was his favorite new artist of 2002 and really wants to work with Ashanti. The two then collab’d on “Into You” in early 03’. Irv says NO to doing a music video because its not a Murder Inc Produced Track. pic.twitter.com/0RQZa6xW4Z

The song peaks at #4 with Ashanti’s version, instead of looking for an alt replacement, they revert back to the original singer, Tamia.

Ashanti releases Chapter II, which Irv puts a bunch of unnecessary skits of his own on such as: Shannys World Intro/Outro, What They Gon Say Now, Sugar Shack, Black Child Skit – which disrupts the whole vibe of the album. Lile wtf is this… pic.twitter.com/gQhhhC9AjO

A G-Unit Vs Murder Inc. beef is now in place. Ashanti’s guilty by Association, with RWU & ROM being Top 10 singles. Gotti pushes back a third single release and has Ashanti release a remix to ROM to promote Ja Rule & Charli to try to get them back to the spotlight. pic.twitter.com/jrFyz8mo2s

Word was that Ashanti, Bey, and A.Keys were all supposed to tour together but Irv was not with it because they were competition and not Murder Inc. Missy & Tamia then join the tour instead.. pic.twitter.com/dGWvyOtiKy

IG finally caught on that R&B is his only hope. He uses Ashanti to duet with Lloyd to debut Southside, which was a success! This we’ll give props on! pic.twitter.com/kYZ8bSaSfl

Ashanti’s “Concrete Rose” album comes out in Dec 2004, with Only U as the debut single. Only U is the only single for 7 months until Dont Let Them. pic.twitter.com/Yek4Q4757V

The late release of Dont Let Them, was Allegedly due to the Murder Inc parting ways with Def Jam. Fans were upset as they wanted a video for Dont Leave Me Alone or Focus. (Kind of strange because RULE album got 3 videos and did less units, ijs) pic.twitter.com/vYeDqPddx6

Mind you Ashanti kept saying “This is my best album” the whole promo run. So, for her to not be able to release atleast 3 singles was crazy

Gotti calls Ashanti unloyal for not showing up to court for the trial even though there’s proof she did. Mind you, she was filming John Tucker Must Die, and couldnt leave Canada, but still did. pic.twitter.com/OCxGueifMM

Ashanti releases one last album with Def Jam called “Collectibles” which she’s not fond of at all. The song is filled with unreleased songs that didnt make the last 3 albums and a bunch of unnecessary remixes that promote INC. artist. pic.twitter.com/uWcfRBxFTi

Still On It was the lead single, Gotti swears she didnt wanna throw up the M’s anymore, but she still managed to do so for the lead single that went into 2006. pic.twitter.com/COdc1VQ1QS

2006 Murder Inc. is in the process of migrating from Def Jam to Universal. Ashanti’s only release that year was a film release of “John Tucker Must Die”. pic.twitter.com/8eq00Kv6XU

2007 – Ashanti collabs with Jagged Edge on “Put A Little Umph In It”. When it comes time to doing the video, Jagged Edge claims they couldnt get Ashanti to do the video due to a conflict with Irv Gotti. pic.twitter.com/NDlGPtNyj5

After releasing an album with no support and help from Irv Gotti, she then takes the independent route and starts her own label Written Enterainment. Wouldnt you wanna go independent after dealing with all that BS 😮💨? pic.twitter.com/DO70rI5Y74

IG loves mocking Ashanti for singing on The Pledge but he was quick to kick Cadillac Tah off and replace him with Nas, who never signed. pic.twitter.com/KvBBMQ5ULp

I forgot to post this clip of when Ashanti shared that Keyshia Cole got shut down by Irv to do an album with her. She also shared there were other producers who had a misconception of her as well. pic.twitter.com/V6g8IVlAD5
