Joey Bada$$ emerged as a prodigy of rap’s golden age. At a young age, he showed that he could rap alongside the best of ‘em. However, the most exciting part of his career is that he never limited himself nor did he allow himself to become boxed in. Joey experienced great success in the world of television and film, even earning an Academy Award for his role in Two Distant Strangers. These days, you could catch him in shows like Power Book III: Raising Kanan.
However, Joey continues to keep his foot on the gas with new music. Last year, the rapper blessed fans with 2000, the successor to his debut mixtape, 1999. His latest project further showcased his growth as both an MC and an artist as a whole. He teamed up with a slew of stars including Chris Brown and Diddy to bring the project to life. Joey Bada$$ hasn’t mentioned the release of a deluxe edition recently but he evidently has more heat in the stash.
Joey Bada$$ Unveils “Fallin”
Joey’s pen is no joke but he proved that it expands outside of just writing raps when he revealed that he co-wrote on Post Malone’s “Rockstar.” However, with the release of his new single, “Fallin,” Joey showcases his growth further. The rapper taps into his R&B bag through slow, sultry production that he pairs with smooth melodies as he reflects on love and lust. Joey truly is a generational talent and “Fallin” showcases this at its best.
Besides the new single, Joey Bada$$ recently announced that he’ll be hitting the road this month. The New York rapper announced that he’ll be joining Wiz Khalifa on the Good Trip tour presented by the Smoker’s Club. The run kicks off in Kalamazoo, MI on April 15th before closing things out in Morrison, CO on April 22nd. Though it’s a short stint, fans will have the opportunity to hear “Fallin,” as well as other songs from 2000, live. Quotable Lyrics
It was lovе at the first time you let me hit it raw
If I shine, then we both shine, but let you shine more
Go above, beyond for her, my machete mi amore
