What’s the significance of your name?
The significance of my name really came as a description of my work ethic. GI has so many meanings behind it and one of the ways I used it since I was in the military was it was government Issued but once I applied it personally meant Grinding Independently. Shows I’m working with what I got and gone work as hard as I can to get to where I need to be

What city do you hail from?
Savannah Georgia West Side to be exact.

How are you going to approach the game as an artist?
My approach to the game is to really be myself. My goal as an Artist is for my fans to see and grow with me as my career progresses.

Who are some of the artists and producers you’ve worked with for your new music?
My personal producers such as JayPlayBeats, WynnOnTheTrack but not going to lie most of my beats came from YouTube

Whom would you say are your greatest influences in music today?
NBA Youngboy Quando Polo G Rio Da Yung OG Juice wrld Lil Wayne Lil Durk Tee Grizzly it’s so many it’s hard to choose.

What are you bringing new to the game for the culture?
It’s so hard to bring something new to the game because so much has been done in the game already but it’s never been done the way that I’m doing it

Explain your new single and what’s your current project.
My new single shake this feeling dives into the fact when you’re going through life and you hit an obstacle or even discomfort you can choose to stay and be messed up about it or you realize you can’t shake the feeling but continue to push on.

So with the climate of today’s artists using ghostwriters, would you use any, and have you done any, for any artists out there now?

I personally don’t see the issue of having but I wouldn’t get one only because my passion for my music has to organically come from me and it’s a couple of singles from artists I helped co-create

In the Port City, Savannah Ga, you have a few choices, in life. You can be an inspiring, international art student, you can run the streets and hustle anything and everything from clothes to drugs, coming off those super cargo ships that frequent the South’s busiest seaport. Or you can shoot your shot, like our beloved local hip hop shero, Flau’jae and become a rapper.

6ix24 Scrilla tried many things growing up in Savannah but rapping and producing is more of a passion than anything.

What’s the significance of your name? 6ix24 is the date my friend was born and he died on 6/11

What city do you hail from? Savannah Ga

What are you bringing new to the game for the culture? A new way of thinking and a new taste for the music

Explain your new single and what’s your current project. Underrated is my new single and it’s basically just a hard song that lets people know how much I’m being underrated

So with the climate of today’s artists using ghostwriters, would you use any, and have you done any, for any artists out there now? I wouldn’t use any but I used to ghostwrite but the people I did it for no longer make music

“What do a career educator, a former hustler/businessman and a music industry veteran have in common? Putting Port City Muzik on the proverbial “map of Hip Hop” for Savannah, Ga. Savannah has given you, Big Boi from OutKast, the late Camouflauge, and his amazing daughter, Flau’jae, the founders of Street Execs, and the controversial, Quando Rondo.

Under the helm and guidance of OG Shadi Powers, a native of Savannah, a prodigal son returning home, after growing up with Hip Hop and the music industry, from New York to Atlanta, for the last 35+ years. Savannah has always had a lot of great talent who had to move to Atlanta, New York or even L.A. to be recognized but this time around, OG has created “Port City Muzik”, a new rap label venture based in Savannah and Atlanta with two new artists. GI Rob and 6ix24 Scrilla.

After having hands involved with creating and working with artists, over the last 30 years from Gucci Mane to BankRoll Fresh, the OG has come home to help solidify Savannah’s place in the Hip Hop Hall Of Fame. That’s the goal. To make sure people who follow hip hop’s 50 years of history , don’t forget the contributions from the great city of Savannah Georgia.
