In a tribute to one of hip-hop’s most iconic anthems, New Orleans is officially declaring June 11, 2024, as Back That A*z Up Day to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Juvenile‘s legendary hit. This proclamation coincides with the announcement of Juvenile’s nationwide tour to commemorate the song’s enduring impact on music and culture.
On Tuesday (June 11), Mayor LaToya Cantrell issued a proclamation recognizing the significance of “Back That A*z Up,” produced by Mannie Fresh and featuring Lil Wayne.
Originally released on June 11, 1999, as the second single from Juvenile’s four-times platinum album, 400 Degreez, the song quickly became a cultural phenomenon, reaching the top charts and becoming a staple in music history. In 2021, it was honored as one of Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Best Songs of All Time.
