Remy Ma’s Son May Face Life In Prison in Wild Murder For Hire Charges


Rapper Remy Ma’s son, Jayson Scott, is in serious trouble. He along with another man, were arraigned on Tuesday, June 25, for the fatal shooting of Darius Guillebeaux in June 2021. Scott, who has appeared on reality TV with his famous mother, faces charges including first and second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Get this and it get’s wild, prosecutors allege that Scott was hired to murder Guillebeaux, who died from a gunshot wound. Scott is also accused of firing at the victim a second time, while his accomplice allegedly fired two additional shots. If convicted, Scott, 23, could face life in prison without parole.

Here’s what Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz stated, “We are charging the defendants with a cold-blooded killing on a public street. Deadly gun violence has no place in our neighborhoods, and we will remain steadfast in getting illegal guns and those who use them off the streets of Queens.”

Richard Swygert, 22, who allegedly assisted Scott and is already incarcerated for a separate murder in the same year, was also charged with second-degree murder, reckless endangerment, and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon. If convicted, Swygert faces up to 25 years in prison, in addition to his other pending cases.

Remy Ma, as many mother’s would maintained her son’s innocence, when speaking with TMZ, stating, “We stand by Jayson’s innocence and pray that the NYPD will conduct a complete and thorough investigation to reveal the truth. This is undoubtedly a difficult time for my family and me. While we sincerely appreciate the love and support we have received from all of you, we kindly ask for privacy as our legal team works to prove Jayson’s innocence.”

She then added, “As his mother, I want to address this situation personally but have been strongly advised by his legal counsel not to say anything—as most people in similar situations are informed by their attorneys due to it being an active case.”
