The newest QC signee, Florida’s SCY Jimm has just shared his new 2-pack of singles “In Too Deep” & “Wrecked the Cat”. The new releases come just a week after SCY Jimm was the victim of a targeted shooting in Daytona. “In Too Deep” was recorded mere hours after his release from the hospital this past Sunday and finds him coping with the situation head-on – “Heard they wanna take me down, won’t let them sweep me off my feet / Mama want me out that water, but I’m in too deep“, he raps in the hook over the unison of a mesmerizing piano loop and knocking drumline that helps to bring the candid introspection out of him. “Wrecked the Cat” finds SCY Jimm reflecting on a recent car accident that he was in – crashing a brand new Hellcat that was gifted to him from QC label boss Pee. On the track, SCY Jimm wastes no time in reflecting on his vices and their proven dangers – “Young, I’m livin’ reckless, snakes we leave them headless / Wrecked the ‘Cat, I could’ve been dead / To still be here, this shit a blessing”, he raps in the hook before using his sole verse to express his clear-cut commitment to his musical career. Together, the two new singles showcase his desire to continue focusing on the music and keep pushing his career to new heights while setting the story straight and expanding upon his spirited sound and emotional lyricism.
On both of his new tracks, which are inspired by separate real-life events, SCY Jimm digs deep into his storytelling abilities by delivering raw lyricism to match with his tight-knit flows. With each subsequent release, it’s clear that SCY Jimm is further elaborating his unique skill set which flaunts detailed storytelling, evident diversity as an emcee and an array of flows. With the release of “In Too Deep” & “Wrecked the Cat”, SCY Jimm is continuing to set himself apart within the Florida Hip-Hop scene, as he’s well into the process of transitioning from a regional star to a creative storyteller with international success.
