Ice Spice has been on a winning streak for the past year. That streak continued this week as Taylor Swift announced their collaboration. The pop star took to social media to announce that Ice Spice would be hopping on the remix of Swift’s track “Karma” from 2022. The song is part of Swift’s latest album, Midnights, which she is currently on tour promoting. Both artists went online to share the exciting news. They revealed that the unexpected collab would be released today. In addition to the announcement, Swift uploaded some Interstellar-like cover art featuring Spice and Swift in space.
In the announcement post, Swift praised Ice Spice. She expressed her admiration for the rapper, even referring to herself as a “massive fan.” The pop singer also saw fit to dub Ice as “the one to watch.” Swift may not be part of the rap community, but that’s still very high praise from such a successful artist. The remix is part of Swift’s new deluxe album called Midnights (Til Dawn Edition). Ice Spice gratefully responded. She called Taylor Swift the sweetest person ever and expressed her love for the artist.
Ice Spice Must Have Great Karma
As soon as the clock struck midnight, the deluxe version of the aptly-named album hit streaming services. Of course, many jumped straight to the remix featuring Ice Spice. Given her meteoric rise recently, it’s so surprise that Taylor decided to feature her. In the song, Ice takes over the second verse, rapping about karma’s role in her life.
“Got you waving pretty white flags, fiending for that cash,” Ice Spice raps. “Thinking it’ll save ya, now you switching up your behavior.” As with Taylor’s lyrics, the Bronx rapper speaks about how she is friends with karma. The rapper lists all of the things that karma will do to you if you aren’t careful. What do you think of Ice Spice’s verse on Taylor’s song? Make sure to let us know in the comments below. Quotable Lyrics:
It’s okay, baby, you ain’t gotta worry, karma never gets lazy
So, I keep my head up, my bread up, I won’t let up
Promise you that you never endeavor with nothin’ lesser
I be draggin’ that wagon, karma is a beauty
Winning that pageant
